The Thomas Jefferson Memorial is a perfect location for engagement photos in Washington, DC. It's a popular choice for good reason; it's historical, iconic, and gorgeous. B&C wanted their engagement photos to have a quintessential DC-vibe, and we agreed that the Jefferson Memorial would be an ideal match for their vision. We met up just after sunrise on a beautiful June morning to document their engagement before life would move them out of the city. We wandered in and around the monument to find all the best spots and to avoid the other people who were there for the same reason. It's worth noting that the Jefferson Memorial can get busy with photographers and their clients. I've found that early morning sessions--like the one here with B&C--tend to be less crowded.

The Jefferson Memorial also provides scenic views of the DC skyline, including the Washington Monument. If you're looking for that DC character to be a part of your session, then there's no better way than including its most recognizable monument.

Not enough convince you? Ok, how about adding in the George Mason Memorial, which is just a five-minute walk from the Jefferson. The George Mason Memorial is situated in a beautiful garden with lots of greenery, flowers, and a pond with a water feature. The trellis and benches are perfect for portraits of all kinds; it's a great add-on location and well worth the short walk.
