Here’s how to allocate your time at a family photo session: 95% goofing around and 5% trying to get a nice photo for Grandma. During our time together, the twins here had a jumping contest, danced, raced (multiple times), put on a show, and ran around on a playground. I was sweating profusely trying to chase after them, but they were having fun, so mission accomplished.
Northern Fauquier Community Park is an ideal location for family photos or, really, any portraits. While it's a bit outside Northern Virginia proper, I highly recommend it for anyone in the Haymarket or Gainesville area. There are multiple ponds, a playground, fields, and a little amphitheater that kids will love. During this session, the twins performed for the adults, and I got some great photos while everyone stayed happy.
